Flora
Due to the intense activity of the settling colonist along the bank of the estuary and the ranges of the valleys the topography is now typified by younger forests, scrublands and grazing land. The areas of county closer to the areas’ mountain ranges are less disturbed and are typified by the presence of wild native flowering and non flowering plants and tree species as well as lichen.

The County is divisible into three autochthonous vegetive zones:

Andean Rainforests containing deciduous and conifer species.

The Northern Patagonian zone in the Pre-cordilleran eastern and south eastern area of the estuary.

The temperate rainforests of the Pre-cordilleran Andes within the western and north-western zones of the estuary.
